Every great trivia team needs a great name. Preferably one that sounds clever, intimidating, and vaguely like it could have been shouted by a drunk cowboy outside a saloon. In “Gang Related: Name Brainstorm,” the Posse puts their collective brainpower toward the very serious business of coming up with a Western-themed trivia team name. The brainstorming gets off to a rocky start…
with suggestions that range from a recent pizza-related mispronunciation of DiGiorno to the surprisingly respectable “Card Cheat Collective.” Unfortunately, neither quite captures the level of menace demanded by the lead voice, who is clearly looking for something that sounds less like a group of guys meeting for trivia and more like a posse that just rode into town looking for trouble. Suggestions fly, dignity dies, and the Western naming exercise slowly turns into a desperate search for a name tough enough to strike fear into the hearts of rival trivia teams. Because apparently “we know some shit about history” isn’t intimidating enough.
